Approximately 40 miles off the coast of Northern Honduras, 3 tiny islands dot the Caribbean sea. Known as the Bay Islands, it is here you will find Roatan – the largest and most developed territory within the archipelago.
Spanning 48 miles in length and less than 5 miles across, Roatan is known for it’s diverse landscape; featuring lush jungle covered hills, world renowned beaches, and crystalline waters. The island itself is encompassed by the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, providing unparalleled opportunities for exploration within the marine protected area.
Quickly making its way to the top of travelers “can’t miss destination” lists, getting to Roatan has never been easier! Our international airport currently offers 11 direct flights departing from the United States, Canada, Belize, Guatemala, and El Salvador. Domestic travelers can take one of the ferries departing from the port city of La Ceiba, or book a flight out of San Pedro Sula, La Ceiba, or Tegucigalpa.
The Juan Manuel Galvez International Airport (RTB), located in Coxen Hole, provides daily and weekly flights to Roatan. See below for the most up to date schedule of airlines servicing the island:

Travelers seeking a more scenic adventure can head to the coastal town of La Ceiba, where two ferries await to bring you to our island paradise! The Roatan Dream and Galaxy Wave ferries depart La Ceiba twice delay, providing a reliable and comfortable passage to Roatan.
Puerta Azul is tucked into a local neighborhood in Sandy Bay, just 10 minutes from West End, 15 minutes from the airport, and 20 minutes from the white-sand shores of West Bay.
If you’re arranging your own transportation, ask your driver for “the Blue Door” just past Lawson Rock. Coming from the east, you’ll find the Puerta Azul sign on your right, across from the car wash and mini-market.
For a seamless arrival, we’re happy to arrange a direct transfer from the airport or ferry; just let us know in advance!
