Every September, Roatan plays host for the prestigious International Fishing Tournament. Each day of the tournament includes its own carnival that spills into the streets of West End. Golden Buoy Dive Olympics

We said there are more things to do in Roatan besides diving, but the Dive Shop Olympics don’t count. Every year between September and November, participating dive shops on Roatan host their own unique event to try to raise funds for the SOL Foundation. The event culminates at the Dive Shop Olympics, a grand celebration where all the shops partake in hilarious activities, like an egg eating competition, with the winning shop getting to display the coveted Golden Buoy for one year. A playful yet purposeful event that supports education and programs for local youth.
