Important Changes to Roatan’s Sloth Experience.
On March 1, 2025, the Honduran government introduced new regulations to safeguard endangered species and curb wildlife trafficking. As part of these efforts, direct contact with sloths and other wildlife is no longer permitted at Roatan’s animal parks and sanctuaries. Visitors can still observe these incredible animals up close and capture their experience with a Sloth Selfie®, but handling and holding them will no longer be allowed.
