You know we couldn’t post this list without including the iconic blue door at our very own (and aptly named) Puerta Azul. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant doors found throughout the Mediterranean, Puerta Azul’s dock provides visitors with a unique focal point before leading them to Roatan’s most prized possession – her coastline. The blue door is both a gateway to paradise, and the perfect prop for pictures!
Flower's Bay Roatan Sign
Every Caribbean vacation requires a picture in front of “the sign.” You know the one – an ubiquitous symbol that has taken Central America by storm! Colorful, strategically placed, and an inherent promise of all the things the destination has to offer. Our very own “Roatan” sign stands proudly in Flowers Bay, a scenic coastal community along the South shore. Stop by one of the many food stalls along the road, or grab a maiz pastelito from the gas station before snapping a pic and continuing on your island adventure!
The Bridge at Mayan Eden
Escape to the jungle at Mayan Eden, located just outside of Coxen Hole. The adventure begins with a walk through dense foliage, where you will be greeted by capuchin monkeys and replicas of Mayan-inspired ruins before traversing through a butterfly garden. Here is where your main photo-op appears – a very long and very high suspension bridge. Once you’re across, enjoy more interactive experiences with kinkajous, toucans, sloths, macaws, and more!

Located on Roatan’s east end, Paya Bay is a haven for those seeking both seclusion and immersion in nature. $5 will get you a day pass to explore Paya Bay’s myriad of manicured trails and hidden treasures. We recommend snapping some pictures at “The Edge of The Universe” – which offers an unbeatable vantage point of the Caribbean Sea and one of Paya’s natural beaches – before further venturing along the private coves, ridges, cliffs, rock formations, and wetlands.
Kao Kamasa Spa
Kao Kamasa Spa, located at the Grand Roatan in West Bay, is an architectural dream.
