Yes, all of our Garden Villa accommodations feature fully-equipped kitchens. This includes the Garden Villa, Family Garden Villa, and 2-Bedroom Garden Villa. This makes our garden villas ideal for guests seeking a self-catering home-away-from-home experience or those planning extended stays. Our beachfront suites do not include kitchens but are equipped with a minifridge for storing drinks and snacks. Guests staying in our villas and suites can enjoy the convenience of our on-site restaurant just steps away, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with authentic dishes crafted by our local chefs.

Yes! You’ve likely already heard about Roatan’s notorious sand flies. These tiny bugs are present throughout the island. We do our part by spraying around the property and regularly raking the sand; however, they’re still around – so prevention is important. Mosquitoes are also present, especially at sunrise and sunset.

We recommend bringing a reef-safe, oil-based repellent made with natural ingredients, or a DEET-based option if you prefer. Being proactive and consistent with repellent will make a big difference. We also carry a locally made, eco-friendly option at the hotel if you’d like to try something produced here on the island.

The beachfront at Puerta Azul rests along seabed flats—a fragile ecosystem that nurtures countless juvenile fish and marine creatures. While the shallow shoreline isn’t suited for wading, it’s lovely for children to play in the sand and for setting off on a kayak or paddleboard. For swimming and snorkeling, our dock stretches 400 feet into the sea, where the sandy-bottomed water opens into a stunning spot to explore the reef. From the dock you can slip directly into the sea, where you’ll often spot incredible sea life that thrives in the seagrass below. The best snorkeling is a short swim from the dock, where you’ll encounter vibrant coral formations, tropical fish, and the world’s second-largest barrier reef system. Many guests say the snorkeling directly from our dock rivals paid excursions elsewhere on the island.

We don’t have a pool, but as a beachfront property, the Caribbean Sea is just steps away. Our private dock stretches 400 feet out over the water, offering a quiet place to sunbathe, read, or simply enjoy the view. From the dock you can slip directly into the sea for swimming and snorkeling, where sandy-bottomed waters and the nearby reef make for an incredible natural playground. Many guests find that the pristine Caribbean waters and direct reef access offer a more authentic and memorable experience than a traditional pool.

Standard check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability at no additional charge—just let us know your needs when booking or contact us directly. Please note that the managers are on-site until 4:30 PM.

Puerta Azul is conveniently located just 10-15 minutes from Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport. We offer transfers to and from the airport for $25 each way for up to 4 people. Simply contact us with your arrival details after booking, and we’ll arrange a driver to meet you at the airport—this is often the most stress-free way to begin your island getaway. For payment, any additional charges during your stay including food, beverages, tours, and gift shop purchases will be added to your room bill throughout your stay. The final balance is payable at check-out via a valid credit card or cash.

Our accommodation options include the Double Sea View Suite with one queen and one single bed (sleeps 3), the Family Garden Villa with one king and two twin beds (sleeps 4), and the 2-Bedroom Garden Villa with two queen and one twin bed (sleeps 5), providing comfortable space for families of various sizes.
