Your Own Corner of the Caribbean. All of it.
Walk down the dock aisle as the afternoon light turns golden. Say your vows over open water, surrounded by the people who matter most. Toast with cocktails as the sky shifts from pink to indigo. Gather for dinner under a canopy of palms and string lights. End the night back on the dock with music, dancing, and the sea all around you.
When you book Puerta Azul for your destination wedding in Roatan, the whole property is yours, including nine suites and villas, a private beach, and 400 feet of dock stretching into the Caribbean sea.
Not a Venue,
An Experience
Puerta Azul was not designed for weddings. It was designed for the kind of people who do not want a wedding. The ones who want a celebration. Intimate, unscripted, and deeply theirs.
Set on a private beachfront estate in Sandy Bay, Roatan, with a 400-foot dock reaching out over the Caribbean, this is one of the most naturally beautiful ceremony settings in the Bay Islands.
We do one wedding at a time, and we close the property to outside guests for your entire stay. No ballrooms. No strangers. Just your people, the sea, and our hospitality.
I have to be honest and say that at Puerta Azul was one of my best experience so far for this 2026. I was there for a wedding and it absolutely beautiful. The setup, theme, food, the service, lots of happy faces and bright smiles from the time I walked in. I love it!

The Whole Property. Exclusively Yours.
The whole property is yours for your stay. Not a room block. A buyout. Your guests will not share the beach, the dock, or the restaurant with anyone else.
Low and shoulder season dates require a minimum of 3-nights. High season dates (December 1 through April 15) require a minimum of 5-nights. Buyout rates accommodate up to 20 guests; the property sleeps a maximum of 27. An additional per guest fee applies for parties over 20.

Hotel Buyout
All weddings require an exclusive property Shoulder and low season dates require a minimum 3-night stay. High season dates (December 1 through April 15) require a minimum 5 nights.

Planning Ahead
We recommend booking at least 6 months ahead to secure your preferred dates. High season weekends go quickly so if you have a specific date in mind, reaching out early is best.

Seasons & Weather
Roatan's dry season runs from April through September. Warm days, calm seas, and clear water are the norm, and this is the window we recommend for our wedding and vow renewal ceremonies.

Getting to Roatan
Roatan's airport (RTB) is served by 11 direct flights from North and Central America. We are just 15 minutes from the airport and happy to help coordinate arrival transfers for your group.

You're met with a certain kind of magic walking through the Puerta Azul (blue door). I had the honor of attending a wedding celebration at this resort venue, and the setting couldn’t have been more romantic nor the attention to detail better. Against the backdrop of the expansive ocean, surrounded by beautiful floral arrangements, two friends shared their vows in a truly unforgettable ceremony. The detail in the decor was a perfect compliment to nature's already gorgeous backdrop. Sunset made the moment all that more special.
Vow Renewal
Ceremonies
Same person. Better view.
A vow renewal at Puerta Azul doesn’t need a production. Some couples do it quietly at sunset with their closest family, others make a long weekend of it with a bigger group. Either way, the dock, the water, and the open sky take care of the rest. The same exclusive buyout applies — the property is yours for your stay, and your guests won’t share it with anyone else. The ceremony can be as structured or as spontaneous as you’d like. We’ll handle the setting; you bring the years.
Common Questions
Destination weddings come with questions. Logistics, legalities, what’s actually included, how far out to book. We’ve heard most of them. Here are the ones couples ask us most.
Do you host weddings for destination couples?
Absolutely. Puerta Azul is designed for destination weddings. Our exclusive property buyout means the couple and their guests have the entire property to themselves — the dock, the beach, the restaurant, and all nine suites and villas.
Is a legal ceremony included?
Legal ceremony coordination is not included in our packages, as requirements vary depending on each couple’s home country and personal preferences. We’re happy to point you in the right direction.
As a foreigner can you legally get married in Honduras?
Yes, legal ceremonies in Honduras are possible — but they do come with some extra steps. Foreign visitors typically need to provide passports, birth certificates, proof of single status, and witness documentation, among other things, and requirements can vary depending on your nationality.
Because of this, a lot of destination couples choose to handle the legal side at home and celebrate with a symbolic ceremony here in Roatan. You get the same vows, the same moment, the same everything — just without the international paperwork.
If a legal ceremony in Honduras is something you have your heart set on, we’re happy to connect you with local professionals who can walk you through it.
What is the buyout requirement?
All weddings require an exclusive property buyout. During shoulder and low season, we require a minimum 3-night buyout. For high season dates (December 1 – April 15), a minimum 5-night buyout applies. Buyout rates accommodate up to 20 guests; the property sleeps a maximum of 27. An additional per-guest fee applies for parties over 20.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking a minimum of 6 months in advance to secure your preferred dates, especially for a full property buyout.
Is the dock ceremony weather dependent? Is there a back-up plan?
Roatan’s dry season (April – September) is our recommended window for weddings with warm, sunny days and calm seas. We advise against scheduling during the rainy season (mid-October – mid-February), as our property is designed around the outdoors. In the unlikely event of rain on your wedding day, we’ll do everything possible to hold the ceremony at the end of the dock. If conditions don’t allow it, our open-air dining area serves as a beautiful backup.
Can we bring our own officiant or photographer?
Yes, of course. You’re welcome to bring your own officiant and photographer. We also offer photography and videography as an add-on.
Can we see sample menus before we book?
Yes. The menu above gives you a sense of what we offer. When you get in touch, we’ll share additional options and work with you to customize a menu around your preferences and the spirit of the celebration.
What's included in the Dock Ceremony package? Can food and drinks be added?
The Dock Ceremony package includes one welcome drink and light hors d’oeuvres per guest. Additional food and beverage can be added on — just let us know what you have in mind and we’ll put together options.
