Retreats at Puerta Azul

A beachfront boutique hotel on Roatán’s north shore — yours exclusively for the duration of your retreat.

The Whole Place.
All Of It.

Puerta Azul is a ten-room boutique hotel in Sandy Bay, Roatan, Honduras, available as a full-property buyout for wellness retreats, dive and adventure groups, team offsites, and private celebrations. The property includes:

A Week You Can Actually Run

For retreat leaders looking for a place where their group can truly be together. Bring your own retreat, your own guests, and your own vision to Puerta Azul. With the entire property reserved for your group, there’s space to gather, connect, move, eat, rest, and spend time by the water without the distractions of a larger resort.

Set directly on the beachfront in Sandy Bay, Puerta Azul offers a quieter side of Roatán, with a 400-foot dock stretching out over the Caribbean. Days can naturally move between the garden, the beach, the water, and the dock, giving you a beautiful setting for yoga, workshops, shared meals, snorkeling, paddleboarding, or simply time to recharge.

You bring the group. We close the property. When you book a full-property buyout, Puerta Azul is reserved exclusively for your retreat and we do not host other hotel guests during your stay. Our team remains here to take care of the details, while you focus on leading your retreat and your guests.

Everything in One Place

01 — The Water

A 400-foot private dock, right outside.

The dock stretches into the Caribbean, ending at a palapa with hammocks and places to gather. The reef is close enough to snorkel from the property, with kayaks and SUPs available for your group.

02 — The Rooms

Ten rooms, designed for retreat groups.

A mix of suites and villas gives everyone their own space while keeping the group together. Up to 18 guests can share the property comfortably, with additional capacity available for larger groups.

03 — The Whole Property

Restaurant, bar, kitchen and gathering spaces — all yours.

Your meals, drinks, workshops and downtime can all happen on site. There is no need to coordinate a collection of outside venues or vendors just to make the retreat work.

04 — The Host Team

You bring the retreat. We take care of the place.

Puerta Azul is owner-operated, and our team is here throughout your stay. We know the property, the island and the rhythm of hosting groups — so you can stay focused on your guests.

A Week Here

You set the program. We build the week around it.

Your retreat might look completely different from the one before it. You decide how you want your group to spend their time; we take care of the meals, boats, transfers, rooms and island logistics that make the week flow.

Day One

Arrive & Settle In

Everyone arrives, settles into their room, and has time to slow down. A swim, a drink on the dock, and an easy dinner together — nothing scheduled until everyone has landed.

Day Two

Begin

Start the morning on the dock or under the palapa with your first session. Breakfast follows, then time to swim, snorkel, read or rest. Come back together in the afternoon for a second session before dinner.

Day Three

Out on the Water

Take the retreat off property for a day on the Caribbean. Boat out to the reef, snorkel, dive, visit a nearby island or simply spend the day on the water. Come back to Puerta Azul for a slow afternoon and dinner together.

Day Four

Stay Awhile

A slower day with more space for your retreat program. A longer morning practice, workshop or conversation, followed by lunch and time to yourself. Add a massage on site, an afternoon swim, or simply nothing at all.

Day Five

Island Time

A change of pace. Explore Roatán beyond Puerta Azul — visit a local community, head into the hills, spend more time on the water, or let the day unfold around your group. Back at the property, gather for dinner and an evening together.

Day Six

Space to Integrate

Keep the schedule light. Start with morning movement and breakfast, then leave plenty of time for people to do their own thing — swim, read, nap, or simply relax. Come back together for an afternoon or evening session before the final dinner.

Who This Is For

Bring your people. We’ll give you the place.

Whether you’re leading a retreat, producing one for a client, or simply gathering your own people, Puerta Azul gives you the entire property to work with.

01 — Yoga & Breathwork Teachers

Bring your practice. We provide the setting.

Teach your own program with space for approximately 20 mats under cover, plus the dock, beach and property for everything around it. Your group stays, eats and gathers in one place.

02 — Wellness Retreat Producers

You bring the program. We handle the rest.

For producers running a retreat for a client or community, Puerta Azul gives you the infrastructure in one place: rooms, kitchen, restaurant, gathering spaces and on-site coordination. No need to manage a collection of outside venues and vendors.

03 — Dive & Adventure Groups

Build the week around the water.

The reef is right off the property, and Sandy Bay is an easy base for diving and island excursions. We can coordinate boats, guides, transfers and meals around your itinerary, so the group isn’t constantly moving between locations.

04 — Small Private Groups

Sometimes you just want the place to yourselves.

Families, friends, teams and other small groups can reserve the entire property for a private stay. With individual rooms and shared spaces throughout the property, everyone can have their own space while still being together.

Dining

Be a Guest at the Table

Meals are part of the experience at Puerta Azul. Beneath a canopy of trees, our open-air restaurant brings together the flavors of Roatán with the flexibility to build menus around your group. You choose the direction — including dietary needs and preferences — and our kitchen takes care of the rest. Choose open-air dining beneath the trees, with a covered space available when rain rolls in.

Our cooking stays rooted in the island’s culinary traditions, with Caribbean spices, local seafood, fresh produce and the comfort of a home-cooked meal, while leaving room for creative twists. From generous seafood platters to colorful vegetarian dishes, everything is prepared on site and served around the table.
