There's the classic Tradicional, a Peruano, a tropical Arrecife and an Island Ceviche made with coconut milk that tastes exactly like it should. Can't decide? The sampler covers three. For Family Deal: Mama Caro's Kitchen

When you just want to feed everyone without the fuss, Mama Caro's Kitchen in West End behind Petro Sun gas station is the answer. A whole rotisserie chicken with rice, beans, and sides runs about $25. That's enough to fill the table and still leave room for ice cream after. They deliver too, so it works just as well back at the hotel as it does in person.

For Local Soups: Island Culture Food

Island Culture Food sits in West End, right next to Booty Bar, and the soups are the reason to go. This is where you find the machuca, the Garifuna classic of mashed green plantain in coconut broth, done with fish or conch. There's a loaded seafood soup, plus fish, conch, chicken, and beef versions, each one served with rice or corn tortillas. Beyond the bowls you'll find stewed meats and proper island plates, but the soups are the heart of the place. This is the real thing. Nothing dressed up for tourists.

For Best Sunday Brunch: The Lounge

Sundays call for a slow morning, and The Lounge in West End does Sunday Brunch the way it should be done with a spread that covers sweet and savory. You'll find loaded potato bowls, mac 'n' cheese, fluffy pancakes with seasonal fruit, coconut shrimp, and a brie and blueberry crostini that's worth ordering on its own. There's plenty for vegetarians and vegans too, from the crispy tofu to a chickpea and beet hummus duo. The drinks hold up their end, with mimosas, Bloody Mary's, and espresso martinis.

New in 2026: Roatan's Food Delivery App

Finally! A reliable, online and mobile app-based food delivery company has started in Roatan, making it easy for Puerta Azul guests to order takeout right to their beachfront suite or garden villa. Roatan Runner recently launched on the island and offers a large selection (and growing) of restaurants across the island, providing quick, bilingual delivery service for a flat $4 fee. Their app is available on Google Play and App Store. Can’t get any easier!
